Cornish Countryside Wedding Venue | A Brochure Website for Anchor Barrow

Thomas Hutchins

Anchor Barrow Campsite sits high on a Cornish hilltop with sweeping countryside views and the coast just minutes away. As demand grew for weddings on the site, the owners wanted a dedicated online space to present their venue professionally while retaining its down-to-earth charm.

The brief was to design a simple, elegant brochure website that brought the story of Anchor Barrow weddings to life - from the scenery and spaces to the experience of celebrating there with friends and family.

Summary

Client: Anchor Barrow Weddings

Project: Website design and build for Anchor Barrow - a popular Cornish campsite just outside Perranporth, now offering their idyllic countryside setting as a rustic wedding venue. The aim was to create a beautiful, informative site that showcased the venue’s charm and versatility, from ceremony spaces to guest accommodation, food, and drink.

Using evocative imagery and warm, descriptive copy, the website needed to capture the essence of an Anchor Barrow wedding: relaxed, personal, and surrounded by the Cornish landscape.

Goal: Present Anchor Barrow as a wedding venue first, while still celebrating its roots as a campsite. Highlight key offerings such as ceremony spaces, food and drink, and accommodation options. Feature real wedding photography and glowing testimonials to add authenticity and emotion. Encourage direct enquiries via a strong “Get in Touch” call to action (rather than using a mailing list).

The Challenge

The team at Anchor Barrow wanted a website that would:

Feel warm and authentic rather than overly polished or corporate.

Showcase the venue’s flexibility - a space that could host ceremonies, receptions, and guest stays all in one location.

Incorporate testimonials and real wedding imagery to build trust and emotional connection.

Make it effortless for potential couples to get in touch to arrange a viewing or start a conversation.

The Approach

We built the website in MailerLite, which offered an intuitive, codeless solution perfect for Anchor Barrow’s needs. The owners wanted full control to update images, tweak copy, and manage enquiries directly - without relying on an external agency. MailerLite provided an easy way to combine clean design, image galleries, and custom forms in one accessible platform.

Design: A soft, rustic aesthetic with natural tones and generous white space, reflecting the countryside setting.

Structure: Clear, story-led navigation - About the Venue, Spaces & Accommodation, Food & Drink, Testimonials, and Gallery.

Imagery: Beautiful real wedding photos to show the space in use and convey its atmosphere.

Calls to Action: Consistent “Get in Touch” prompts throughout, inviting couples to enquire directly rather than sign up for a mailing list.

Copywriting: Guided by the client’s own words - warm, romantic, and rooted in place - to ensure the tone felt genuine and personal.

The Outcome

The finished Anchor Barrow website feels both inviting and informative - a digital reflection of their relaxed Cornish wedding experience.

Couples can easily explore what the venue offers, see real weddings, and make direct enquiries in just a few clicks. The MailerLite build means the team can update testimonials, images, and details seasonally, keeping the site fresh without added cost or complexity.

The result is a simple, beautiful website that perfectly captures the heart of Anchor Barrow: a unique, rural setting for unforgettable weddings by the sea.
